Futures Housing Group’s core purpose is to provide affordable housing, and we operate across the East Midlands. We own and manage over 10,000 homes and serve more than 20,000 customers, families and communities. Thanks to a successful bond market refinancing last year, we are in an excellent financial position, and hold the top regulatory ratings for governance and financial viability. We’re about to launch our new Corporate Plan through to 2023, building on our successful track record but with a renewed focus and energy. Our forward strategy includes delivering an effortless customer experience, and we are committed to continuing to invest in our existing homes and developing homes both for sale and for rent. We’re transforming how we interact with our customers, investing in game-changing new technology, and have strengthened our long-standing organisation-wide commitment to sustainability. So it’s a fantastic time to join our board and committees.
If you are a candidate to become an Independent Member of our Audit & Risk Committee you will be a qualified accountant (or have experience of the audit and risk function in a senior executive or non-executive role), and knowledge of corporate governance in a regulated sector would be an advantage. Strong candidates will have particular strengths in at least one of the following:
You’ll have a good understanding of the crucial importance of corporate governance in a regulated sector, and some knowledge and / or experience of housing associations would be a real asset. Above all, you’ll appreciate our values-driven approach, and will share not only our sense of social purpose, but also our conviction that running a great business is the best route to achieve it.
It’s a great opportunity to put your non-executive skills to work in the service of a genuinely life-changing social business.
