At LiveWest, we believe in a home for everyone, and we own and manage over 37,000 homes across the South West, from Cornwall to Gloucestershire. As well as providing homes for rent and shared ownership, we’re playing our part to address the shortage of housing in a region where high need and high prices are a significant challenge. Our ambitious plans will see us invest more than £2bn in the SW economy, to provide 15,000 new homes over the next decade.
Reporting to our Executive Director of Operations, you’ll be responsible for all planned and responsive property services – repairs, voids and refurbishment, compliance, fire safety work and some upgrade works (including kitchen and bathroom replacements, for example). Overseeing a multi-skilled workforce of around 370, you’ll lead a motivated team, ensuring we continue to provide consistently excellent customer experience and promote a ‘right first time’ culture. Ideally RICS or CIOB qualified, you may have gained your professional property experience in a sector other than housing – what’s important is that you can demonstrate a comprehensive repertoire of skills, a firm grasp of how analytics can drive improved performance, and an absolute focus on outcomes.
Your leadership track record will be impressive, with extensive evidence of introducing effective innovation and a high level of organisation in every aspect of the role. As part of our leadership team, you’ll exemplify our values and behaviours, and will support constructive, collegiate working across the business.
Candidates will already have leadership experience in a property maintenance team, and you’ll be familiar with setting and managing significant capital and revenue budgets, pursuing efficiency opportunities and overseeing capital projects. Well-versed in the relevant Health & Safety and safeguarding responsibilities, you’ll ensure that our teams operate safely, following best practice guidelines at all times. You should also have a good understanding of the operating environment and emerging opportunities or constraints which might affect your role.
